Arkansas Stones

            We offer three grades of stone in four different classifications.  Medium grade is called Soft Arkansas.  This most popular grade is an all-purpose stone which will put a keen edge on knives and tools in a minimum amount of time.  Fine grade is called Hard Select.  This is often called ‘White Hard’, but may have color variations also.  Puts a fine polished edge on knives and tools. 

            Extra-fine grade is called ‘True Hard Arkansas’.  This category includes Black Arkansas and Translucent Arkansas.  Black Arkansas stones are black or blue-black in color.  Translucent stones may be translucent shade of gray, white, yellow, brown or even pink.  True-Hard are used where an extremely fine polish is required.
